For AI assistants · MCP server

Real Alpha's MCP server gives Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any other assistant the moments we cut from long interviews with the people building AI: 574 of them, from 140 episodes of 40 shows. Each comes with who said it, the show, the date, their words and the page to cite, so your assistant can quote the source instead of guessing. Free, with no account and no key.

## The address

Server URL · Streamable HTTP

`https://realalpha.app/mcp`

## Add it to your assistant

### Claude

1. In Claude on the web or the desktop app, open Settings, then Connectors.
2. Choose Add custom connector, name it Real Alpha and paste the address. There’s nothing to sign in to.
3. In a chat, turn Real Alpha on from the tools menu and ask away.

On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds connectors for everyone.

### Claude Code

1. Run this in a terminal:

Command

```
claude mcp add --transport http real-alpha https://realalpha.app/mcp
```

### ChatGPT

1. Open Settings, then Apps & Connectors, and under Advanced settings turn on Developer mode.
2. Choose Create, name it Real Alpha, paste the address and pick No authentication.
3. In a chat, add Real Alpha from the tools menu.

Developer mode is on paid plans; on a workspace, an admin may need to allow it first.

### Cursor

[Add to Cursor](cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install?name=real-alpha&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL3JlYWxhbHBoYS5hcHAvbWNwIn0=)

1. Or add it to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

mcp.json

```
{ "mcpServers": { "real-alpha": { "url": "https://realalpha.app/mcp" } } }
```

### VS Code

[Add to VS Code](vscode:mcp/install?%7B%22name%22%3A%22real-alpha%22%2C%22type%22%3A%22http%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Frealalpha.app%2Fmcp%22%7D)

1. Or run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette, or add it to .vscode/mcp.json:

mcp.json

```
{ "servers": { "real-alpha": { "type": "http", "url": "https://realalpha.app/mcp" } } }
```

### Anything else

1. Windsurf, Zed, Cline, Goose and most other clients take the address as it is, as a remote server over Streamable HTTP.
2. A client that only runs local servers can reach it through mcp-remote:

Config

```
{ "mcpServers": { "real-alpha": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://realalpha.app/mcp"] } } }
```

## What it can do

Six tools, all of them read-only. Ask in your own words: the assistant picks the tool.

**search_moments**

Searches every moment by what was said, with filters for who’s talking, a company, a show or a date.

“What have the people building AI said about the AI bubble?”

**what_did_they_say**

Everything one person said in the interviews we cut, or only what they said on a topic, with who they are.

“What has Jensen Huang said about AI demand?”

**answers_to**

How builders answer a big question about AI, grouped by which way they answer, with what each one says.

“Will AI replace software engineers? What do the people building it say?”

**get_moment**

One moment in full: the quote, the takeaways, its topics, the questions it answers and the episode’s other best minutes.

“Tell me more about that Satya Nadella moment.”

**transcript_excerpt**

About a minute of an episode’s transcript from any second, to check the exact words around a quote.

“What exactly did he say around 31:50?”

**latest_moments**

The newest best minutes, from every show or one.

“What did AI leaders say on podcasts this week?”

## How it works

Every answer is a short excerpt and a link: a quote, a summary, or a minute of transcript at most. The whole conversation is on each moment's page on realalpha.app, which plays the episode from that minute in YouTube's player. The videos and what's said in them belong to their shows, so when your assistant uses a moment, it names the speaker, the show and the date and links the page.

It only reads. It doesn't ask who you are and doesn't keep what you ask. Each address can send 120requests a minute. Using it means agreeing to our [terms](https://realalpha.app/terms/), as using the site does.
