# fal's Burkay Gür says higher video prices don't hurt demand

Burkay Gür, co-founder and CEO of fal, said on the podcast Sourcery that demand for AI-made video has kept growing even as prices climbed. The episode was posted Tuesday.

## Why you'd care

For most people this touches the ads and videos they see every day. If studios and marketers pay more for better AI video, more of what shows up on screens could be made this way. It also matters for people who work in advertising and film production.

Gür said clips from one video AI system cost about 30 cents for five seconds. Then Google's Veo 2 arrived at $5 for the same length, a jump of more than 10 times. Gür said the team wondered who would pay that.

Gür said the buyers were increasingly professionals in marketing, ads and movie production. Co-founder and CTO Gorkem Yurtseven said video and images each bring in about half of fal's revenue. Yurtseven expects costs to keep rising as clips get longer and sharper.

[Unite.AI](https://www.unite.ai/fal-announces-series-f-led-by-bessemer-to-expand-ai-inference-capacity/) reported Tuesday that fal announced a Series F led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with NVIDIA as a strategic investor. The headline says the money is meant to expand its capacity for running AI. fal sells that service to companies, so it gains when demand holds up.

Gür also said OpenAI's Sora video tool was growing fast on fal before it was taken down. The rumor, Gür said, is that there wasn't enough computing power for it.
